We Are All Valuable

Valuing people is so important. When one realizes their value, life and joy radiate from them. Each of us has the opportunity to give value to the people we come into contact with, whether that be through a hello to the stranger on the sidewalk, a thank you to the cashier at the grocery store, or sending a card in the mail. There are many ways to show value to others.

Today’s card features the Echoes of Time collection by 49 and Market. I used both the rub on transfers and the die cut elements.

To start with, I took a 4 x 5 ¼ inch panel of white cardstock, chose these gorgeous roses from one of the rub on sheets, peeled off the backing and rubbed the transfer onto the panel slightly to the left of center.

Next, I took an A2 card base that I’d previously made and my scorched timber distress oxide ink pad. I swiped the ink pad along all four sides of the front of the card so there would be a nice brown border behind the panel.

To bring more of that brown color into the card, I squished the ink pad onto my glass mat and added a couple spritzes of water to it. I laid the backing of the rub on transfer gently over the rubbed on image so no splatters landed on the image and with a paintbrush, I splattered the watered down scorched timber ink all over the panel.

I then adhered the panel to the card base with Bearly Art glue. The splatters look so nice with the brown border.

Next, I looked through the 83 different die cut elements and chose a beautiful pocket watch. There was no center image, so I chose one of the clock faces and glued it to the outer pocket watch piece. I then cut three slightly smaller circles from scrap cardstock and glued them to the back of the pocket watch for added dimension, and glued it onto the card, slightly overlapping the lower right bit of the rub on.

The final piece to add was the sentiment. I chose the ‘you are important’ sentiment from the self-care sentiments stamp and die set by Alex Syberia designs. I stamped it onto white cardstock with WOW embossing ink and heat set it with WOW metallic platinum embossing powder. It goes so nicely with the scorched timber ink. I wanted some dimension on the sentiment as well, so I die cut it two more times and glued the three pieces together before gluing them to the top of the card.

I hope this card has given you inspiration to craft your own cards that show value. Or perhaps this is a reminder to you to show value to others as well as to yourself. We all have value. Let’s remind each other.
