Silver Trees

Hey friends! I can hardly believe it is almost November. I mean, there is a chill in the air and frost on the ground most mornings, but in a way, it feels like someone has pushed the fast forward button and sped through part of the year. Or perhaps it’s that the older I get, the faster time seems to go. Either way, we’re quickly approaching Christmas again!

Today’s Christmas card features some distress sprays, lunar paste, and a gorgeous embossing folder.

I started with a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch panel of Strathmore watercolor cardstock. I spritzed the panel generously with cracked pistachio distress oxide spray and brushed pewter distress mica spray. After drying it with my heat gun, I placed it in the Frosted Trees 3D embossing folder by Memory Box and ran it through my embossing machine.

To make the trees stand out a bit more, I placed my finger very lightly in my tub of silver lining lunar paste and gently rubbed it all over the trees.

Next, I distressed the edges of the panel with my scissors, then rubbed my WOW embossing ink pad generously over the distressed edges. I covered the edges with WOW metallic silver embossing powder and heat set it.

I glued the panel onto an A2 card base. All that’s left is the sentiment which I die cut from silver cardstock using a Merry Christmas die from Michaels. I glued the sentiment on the card with Bearly Art glue.

I actually sat down last night with a cup of coffee, a Christmas movie, and the Christmas cards I’ve made so far and started writing in them. It feels nice to get a head start. Perhaps this evening I’ll write in some more and I can add this one to my pile of cards to send out. I hope this inspires you to enjoy creating whatever it is that you’re working on. Have fun, be present in the moment, and enjoy life!
