I find I really enjoy making ‘thinking of you’ cards and I tend to send a lot of them out to friends. It’s just such a nice way to let people know you care.
For this card I simply used one stamp set, ink, and paper. It was a quick card to make but I think it looks very elegant.
To start off I used Recollections white 110lb cardstock paper for the A2 size card base. I used my paper trimmer to cut the 8 ½ x 11 inch paper in half to have two 8 ½ x 5 ½ inch pieces. I scored them both at 4 ¼ inches to make two A2 size cards. I used the same paper for the card front. I started with a 5 ¼ x 4 inch card front but trimmed it after stamping. The stamp set I used was the Simon Says Stamp! Vintage Garden. I stamped two of the floral patterns, one in each bottom corner, using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed using Recollections clear embossing powder. I then stamped the ‘thinking of you’ sentiment using the same ink and embossing powder.
Next, I used Recollections black 65lb cardstock paper to frame my card front. I cut it to 5 ¼ x 4 inches and attached it to my card base using Craft double sided glue tape. Next, I trimmed my card front so there is just a bit of black outlining the card front. I just eyeballed it for size, but it ended up being 5 3/16 x 3 15/16 inches. I attached that to the black cardstock using Craft double sided glue tape.
To finish it off I stamped a butterfly on the inside using the VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. It just added a nice little detail to the inside of the card.
And that’s it for this simply elegant thinking of you card. See you next time!
