Hi, I’m Robin

Hi everyone! I’m Robin of Chanti Art Creations. I’m all about peace, love, and creating which is why I chose the name Chanti as it means peace in Hindi.

About 20 years ago, a dear friend introduced me to scrapbooking and I fell in love with it! As a mom of five children I didn’t have a lot of time for scrapbooking. Like many fellow crafters, I started out scrapbooking on my dining room table. With a family of seven, I wasn’t able to keep my supplies set up, so scrapbooking tended to be something I did on long weekends or holidays.

Fast forward a couple of decades (where did the time go?) and all the kids are out on their own and we now have spare bedrooms in the house. I’ve converted one into a craft room and another into a craft storage room. It is so wonderful to be able to have craft supplies out and ready to use!

I got into card making in the fall of 2021 when I decided to make my own Christmas cards to send out. I made very simple cards just using the supplies I had. I found it so fun and relaxing to create that I began looking up different card making techniques online.

This led me to YouTube and the huge card making and crafting community found there. I began watching and learning many different techniques and slowly started to add to my craft supply stash. (I don’t think we ever stop adding to it, do we?)

I’ve really grown to love this crafting community in which I’ve pretty much been a silent part of until now. I love the diversity and uniqueness within the community.

I find so much beauty in diversity and I believe we can all learn from each other if we’re open. Each of us has so much to offer – different styles, techniques, personalities, etc., that together we make a beautiful community, or shall I say crafting family.

I have found everyone so warm and welcoming, so encouraging to beginners like me. We each have our own styles of creating and presenting our creations. I love that, because the most important thing we can be in this life is ourselves.

Whether you’re just starting out in card making or have been doing it for years, I encourage each of you to allow who you are to shine through your crafting. As I embark on this card making journey, I hope you’ll join me in creating and sharing who you are with the world.
