Torn Vellum Birthday Card

Hey everyone! I’m back again with another birthday card idea. This time I’m doing something a little different.

I’m starting with an A2 card base made from Recollections white 110lb cardstock paper. This time instead of making a card front panel, I’ve gone through my scrapbook paper stash and found some lovely beige script paper from the DCWV scripts and music notes premium stack.

I cut it into a 5 ½ x4 ¼ inch piece then tore it and attached the larger piece of it to the card base with Craft double sided glue tape. Next, I took my Tim Holtz Distress Mica Spray in burnished brass. I gave it a good shake, but instead of spraying it, I opened it up and used the tube from the sprayer to splash a few drops over the card.

Again, I went ruffling through my stash of scrapbook papers, but this time I looked through my printed vellum papers and found a beautiful piece with pink and gold flowers. I tore a piece of it out in the size I thought would look best on the card. I attached it using Craft Medley premium craft glue.

For the sentiment, I found a strip of Recollections white 110lb cardstock paper and I stamped the ‘have a fabulous birthday’ sentiment from a Forever in Time stamp set using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I heat embossed it with WOW metallic gold rich super fine embossing powder. I trimmed it to the size I thought looked best and rounded two of the corners with my Creative Memories corner rounder. I attached it to the card using Bearly Art precision craft glue.

And there we are, another card done. I hope you’re enjoying your card making as much as I am! See you next time!
