Hello

Hey friends! Today I made a card using up a small leftover piece of scrapbook paper. As a scrapbooker and a card maker I tend to save all my scraps of paper because you just never know when you might find a use for them. This results in having way too many scraps of paper filling up my craft room. I have them tucked away in a filing cabinet and sadly most of the time they’re out of sight, out of mind. You know how it goes. So, today I decided to use a tiny piece of leftover scrapbook paper and I quite like the way it turned out. It gives me some inspiration to experiment with more of it.

I made the A2 card (4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch) out of Recollections 110lb white cardstock. The card front is cut to 4 x 5 ¼ inches from the same cardstock. The scrapbook paper I chose is a thin, blue piece of paper. It was about an inch wide and about 7 inches long. I tore it into three strips lengthwise. I like the look of torn paper on some of my projects. I glued these strips of paper onto the left side of the card front, leaving a bit of white space in between each strip. I folded the paper over the ends and glued it in place. I used my Bearly Art glue for all the gluing.

Next, I ran the card front through my Gemini Jr. using a flower embossing folder. I have no idea what brand it is, but it’s cute. I adhered the card front onto the card base using Forever In Time glue tape runner.

I then took another small piece of the blue scrapbook paper and glued it onto some white cardstock using Bearly Art glue. I needed it to be thicker so I could die cut it. I die cut the word hello from the Honey Bee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords dies with my Gemini Jr. I glued this onto the card front using Bearly Art glue. I really like how this turned out and it felt good to use up a tiny bit of my leftover scrapbook paper. Never underestimate something (or someone) that maybe looks like a small, leftover scrap. If you look closely, you can see the beauty in anything (or anyone). It all has to do with what we choose to see. Choose to see the beauty that is all around you!
