Sweet Christmas

Hey everyone, I hope you’re getting excited for the Christmas season, I know I am. With Christmas comes delicious treats like homemade Christmas baking and special Christmas candies. This card was inspired by Christmas candies.

I was looking through my piles of Christmas stickers that I’ve collected over the years (yes, I have way too many stickers) and I came across some jars of Christmas candies. As a child I was always so excited about the special candies that only came out at Christmastime.

I stuck the stickers onto white cardstock and cut them out. I was pretty sure I wanted one to lay flat and the other to be popped up on foam tape.

For the front panel I decided to look through my mountains of Christmas scrapbook paper and found this red striped paper that kind of reminded me of a candy cane. I cut it to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and adhered it to the card base using Forever In Time glue tape runner.

I had decided that I wanted the card to say, “Have a SWEET Christmas” so I started looking through my sentiments to see what I could find. I had to use one stamp set for the ‘wishing you a’ and another stamp set for the word Christmas. I used an alphabet stamp set to spell out the word sweet. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I die cut it using the second smallest rectangle from the Spellbinders Nestabilities curved rectangles dies. I adhered the sentiment to the card using the glue tape runner and put the sentiment in the top half of the card.

Now for the candies! I glued one jar of candies down using Bearly Art glue. I popped the second jar of candies up on foam tape and adhered it, slightly overlapping the other jar. And with that, this card is done.

I hope you take time this season to reflect on some childhood Christmas memories. If you have children of your own, enjoy making some sweet new memories that they will cherish for years to come.
