Snowflakes in the Sky

I have this beautiful set of snowflake cutting dies from Michaels and I was envisioning white snowflakes on a wintery sky background for this card. I love watching snow falling on a beautiful winter day. It makes me want to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

I used lots of my Recollections white 110lb cardstock on this card. I used it for the A2 card base, the 4 x 5 ¼ inch panel and the snowflakes. I ran the snowflake dies through my Gemini Jr which cut them out like a dream.

To make the wintery night sky on the card panel, I used my domed foam blenders and a few Tim Holtz distress oxide inks. I started with tumbled glass on the bottom going almost halfway up the card. Then I went into faded jeans and finished the top off with hickory smoke. I think it turned out really well.

I wanted the sentiment to be on white cardstock so I stamped ‘silent night’ onto a strip of white cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and trimmed it to a clean rectangle shape.

I used Forever In Time glue tape runner to adhere the panel to the card base and then positioned the snowflakes where I wanted them to go. I glued the snowflakes and the sentiment down using Bearly Art glue. This card turned out great!

So far the snow hasn’t fallen here yet and it’s close to the end of November already. I sure hope we get to enjoy some beautiful snowflakes soon. They sure have a way of making our world look pretty.
