Black and White Forest

This sweet little card centers around a cute little forest scene. I left the entire card black and white as sometimes that looks just as good as adding color.

The A2 card is made from white Recollections 110lb cardstock. The circle in the center is also from the same cardstock.

I chose to go with this pretty black and white scrapbook paper filled with branches and pinecones for the card panel, leaving a small white border around the panel. I adhered it to the card base using Forever In Time glue tape runner.

On white cardstock I stamped this circle stamp that has a bare tree and some ground lines. On the branch of the tree I stamped a small bird. Next to the tree I stamped this cute, little deer who is the perfect height to be looking at the bird, as if they’re having a conversation.  I stamped everything using VersaFine Claire nocturne ink.

I cut along the black line of the circle and then adhered the circle to the center of the card using foam tape, giving it that little bit of dimension so the forest scene pops up from the background. I didn’t think a sentiment was needed for the front of this card. Instead, I stamped ‘Christmas Blessings’ on the inside of the card with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink.

This simple black and white card didn’t need anything extra. I think sometimes less is more.

I hope you take time to enjoy every blessing of the Christmas season.
