Comfort and Joy

I’m thankful for the diversity in our world. We see diversity in people, in cultures, and in art to name a few. When I create cards, I enjoy the diversity in the cards I can create. Some are filled with bling, some are very minimalistic, and some are in between. I love that all the cards I create are different and unique. I don’t like to create the exact same card. I like the variety.

Today’s card is more on the minimalistic side. It’s very clean and simple, yet very elegant. As the old saying goes, sometimes less is more,

I created the A2 card base from white Recollections 110lb cardstock. I used the same cardstock to cut a 4 x 5 ¼ inch panel for the front. I also used white cardstock to die cut a stitched circle for the sentiment.

I chose three silver washi tapes to use on the panel. Two are sparkly and one is shiny. I put the thinner sparkly washi tape horizontally towards the bottom of the panel. The other two I put vertically towards the left side of the panel with a small space in between them.

For the sentiment I used ‘tidings of comfort and joy’ from Stampin’ Up word play. I stamped it in the center of the stitched circle using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder. I wanted another color to offset the white and silver, so I found a sheet of light blue glitter paper and die cut another stitched circle one size larger than the white one.

To complete this beautiful card, I used Craft glue tape runner to adhere the panel to the card base. I used Bearly Art glue to adhere the white circle to the blue circle and also to adhere this to the card panel slightly overlapping where the washi tapes cross each other.

I quite like how this simple, yet elegant card turned out. The sparkle from the washi tape and the glitter cardstock are so pretty and the silver and blue look so nice together.
