Three in One

Today’s card is one that uses up some of my huge supply of Christmas scrapbook paper. I literally have so much it will take me years to use it all. And a bonus to this card is that it actually made three cards!

I created the A2 card bases from white Recollections 110lb cardstock. I also cut three 4 x 5 ¼ inch panels from the same cardstock to use as the front panel of each card.

I chose three different Christmas scrapbook paper pages to use. One is red, one is black with white branches, and one is silver glitter cardstock. I cut all three to the same size as the panel, 4 x 5 ¼ inches. Lining one on top of the other, I cut those three panels into three parts, almost triangular in shape. I’m not quite sure how to describe it but you’ll see in the pictures.

Using Craft double sided glue tape runner, I adhered the pieces of cardstock to the three card panels, making sure to piece them together using one of each color of cardstock on each card.

Now, the fun part of decorating each card. I don’t like to make the exact same card twice, so it was fun to play with the details on each of these cards. Of course, they’re similar, but still have their differences.

For the first card, I die cut a stitched circle from black cardstock and I stamped Peace on Earth in the center using Wow embossing ink. I heat set it with Wow white embossing powder. I die cut a couple of white branches to tuck slightly under the sentiment circle. As I was laying it on to see how it looked, I decided I wanted to add black glitter washi tape to the seams of the cardstock pieces. I tucked the ends of the washi tape around to the back of the panel then adhered the panel to the card base using glue tape. I popped the sentiment circle up on foam tape and placed it over where the three pieces of cardstock intersect. To finish this card, I used Bearly Art glue to adhere the white branches, tucking them slightly behind the sentiment circle.

For the second card, I covered the seams of the cardstock with silver glitter washi tape and adhered the panel to the card base. I stamped a large JOY sentiment on white cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder. I then used a die from Spellbinders Nestabilities curved rectangles to cut out the sentiment. I popped the sentiment up on foam tape and placed it over the intersection of the three pieces of cardstock.

For the final card, I covered the seams of the cardstock with black glitter washi tape and adhered the panel to the card base. I stamped a large, gorgeous ornament onto black cardstock using Wow embossing ink and heat set it with Wow silver metallic embossing powder. I fussy cut the ornament out and adhered it to the panel over the intersection of the cardstock. To finish this card off I stamped a simple ‘seasons greetings’ sentiment in the bottom right corner using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder.

Three beautiful cards made with three pieces of cardstock. These were quite fun to make and I’m sure I’ll make more using this concept. You could use any theme of cardstock and make these cards for any occasion.
