Hey everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely day. Today I have another birthday card to share with you. I created this card as part of the fall design team for my local scrapbook store, Aall Scrapbook Essentials – Home which is my favorite store in Kamloops!
This very clean and simple card features a few of their products. First, I used the Spellbinders Stargazer embossing folder to emboss stars on the front of the white card base. Next, I stamped the birthday cake stamp from Simon Hurley’s birthday basics set onto white cardstock. I used VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I also stamped the small floral element from the same set onto the cake. I colored the image using a mixture of copic markers and gelly roll pens. Using the Hero Arts Infinity dies rectangles, I cut out the cake image. I adhered the image onto the star background using foam tape to give it some dimension.
This card is very clean and simple, but I think the embossed stars really add something to the card. I also didn’t feel that a sentiment was needed on the front, so I stamped a greeting inside instead. It simply says, “Wishing you another year full of blessings and joy.”
This card took no time at all to make, and it taught me a new technique. I have never embossed the front panel of the card base. I’ve embossed panels to add to the front but never simply the front itself. I quite like how it turned out and will use this technique in the future as well.
Have a great day and happy crafting!
