Has anyone told you lately how important you are to them? Have you told the people in your life how important they are to you? Everyone on this planet is important to someone. We all have value. Sometimes when we face challenges in life, we can forget how important we are. Perhaps you know someone who seems to have forgotten how valuable they are. If that’s the case, please tell them. Sometimes we need to be reminded how important we are. Perhaps you’re reading this, and you’ve forgotten how important you are. I may or may not know you personally, but please know you are important. I love to send these kinds of encouraging cards as I think we can all be reminded of our worth.
I created this card as a part of the design team for my local scrapbook store – Aall Scrapbook Essentials – Home. Please check them out if you’re in the Kamloops, BC, area. There is a lot of product packed into that small store! The main product I used for this card was the Spellbinders Stargazer embossing folder. I started by inking up a white cardstock panel with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in salty ocean and faded jeans. When the ink was dry, I ran it through my embossing machine.
Knowing that I wanted stars to be the main elements on this card, I purchased the Uniquely Creative Stacked Stars die from Aall Scrapbook Essentials. I cut them from holographic cardstock and they’re stunning! As I positioned them over the inked and embossed panel, I noticed that the embossed stars didn’t stand out as much as I’d like them too. I used a nail file to sand each star, revealing the white cardstock underneath. I didn’t make them perfect; some still have a bit of blue on them, but I like that effect.
Next, I placed the die cut stars where I wanted them and lined up my sentiment stamp. I used a stamp from the Self-Care Sentiments by Alex Syberia designs. I stamped it with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder.
Finally, I used scor-tape to adhere the panel to the card and used Bearly Art glue to add the holographic stars, cutting two of the stars and placing all four pieces on the edges of the card.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out and I think the message is so vital for people to hear. As I said in the beginning, please reach out to people and let them know how important they are to you. And please also remember that you are just as important.
