Every human being desires to be loved. There are many definitions of love in our world today. I’m talking about the love that gives without expecting anything in return. Love values people for simply being. Love doesn’t demand people jump through hoops to be accepted. So, if you’re reading this today, please know that you are valued, you are important, and you are loved.
This was a very simple card to make. I simply started with a white A2 card I had previously made. I cut another piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and used a stamp set I picked up second hand. It’s the Painted Tulip Stamp Set by Concord & 9th. I used my misti to line the stamp up as it is a layering stamp set. I stamped the main tulip image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The colored portions of the stamp set come in 4 separate pieces. First, I lined up the stem and stamped it with Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. I then stamped both of the leaves with that same color. Finally, I lined up the flower portion of the stamp and stamped it in Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.
When the ink was dry, I cut the panel down a bit as I wanted a nice border around it. I didn’t measure, just eyeballed it. When it was the size I was happy with, I adhered it to the card base with scor-tape.
For the sentiment, I stamped the ‘you are loved’ sentiment from the Alex Syberia designs Self-Care Sentiments stamp set onto white cardstock. I added gold embossing powder and heat set it. I then used the coordinating die to cut the sentiment out. I used Bearly Art glue to adhere it to the top right portion of the card.
For the final touch, I wanted some gold sparkle, so I put the card in my splatter box, covered up the flower and sentiment with scrap paper and used a small paint brush to splatter gold ink by Winsor & Newton. This card is ready to be sent to someone who needs to be reminded that they are loved.
I hope you know how much you are loved and that you also go out of your way to remind others that they are loved. I think there are so many people in our world who feel they don’t measure up, who have been ostracized, who simply don’t know they are loved. Be love to those you meet. I think we all can be more aware of our words, actions, tones, and facial expressions. Sometimes without even realizing it, we can put across to others that they aren’t welcome or valued. Be intentional to show love to your fellow human beings. Everyone deserves to be loved.
