They say laughter is the best medicine. It is true that a good laugh really can change your perspective. Whether things are going well in your life or not, laughter can give you some peace and joy even in the midst of the storm.
I received a new stamp and die set for Christmas that I used to create these two cards. There are so many variations that can be done with this stamp and die set by PhotoPlay.
For the first card, I started with a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch panel cut from watercolor paper. I used a Vicki Boutin stencil and silver lining lunar paste to add some texture and dimension on some areas of the panel. I sprayed some tarnished brass distress mica spray on the panel as well. While that was drying, I die cut the word laugh from black cardstock and the shadow of the word from blue cardstock. I stamped ‘I love to’ and ‘with you’ on black cardstock and heat embossed it in white. I wanted a small black mat layer behind the panel so I cut black cardstock to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches and glued it to an A2 card base. I trimmed a tiny bit off of the panel and glued it to the mat layer. Next, I glued the word ‘laugh’ onto its shadow and glued that to the panel. I trimmed down the two stamped phrases and glued them to the panel as well, so the card reads ‘I love to laugh with you’.

The second card was very simple to make. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches and ran it through one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders. I glued this to an A2 card base. I then took some pink cardstock and used two of the Hero Arts rectangle infinity dies to create a frame for the card. I glued the frame to the panel. From the leftover pink cardstock, I die cut the word ‘laugh’ and I stamped the phrase ‘til your belly hurts’ and heat embossed it in white. I trimmed it down and glued the sentiment onto the card panel.
I think these cards will be a great reminder to laugh whether times are great or times are tough. Laughter truly is the best medicine.
