While I am thoroughly enjoying the tiny bit of snow we got this past weekend, as it’s been a very dry winter here, I know that there are some who are done with the cold and wishing for lazy summer days. As I went through my craft supplies today, I was drawn to this beautiful ocean themed stamp set from Crafty Individuals. I chose three stamps from the set: a crab, a shell, and a sentiment.
Before stamping the images and sentiment, I chose to die cut three circles (one large and two small) from the Spellbinders Postage Edge Circles die set. I wanted to add some ocean colors to the card, so I chose two Stampin’ Up inks. I inked the circles with Pool Party ink and the card base with Lost Lagoon ink. I added some droplets of water on the card base and picked it up with a paper towel. This gives the impression of bubbles.
I stamped the images and sentiment onto the circles using WOW embossing ink, added WOW metallic copper embossing powder, and heat set them. I think these colors go great together.
I used my paper trimmer to cut a tiny bit off the big circle, then glued all the circles onto the card.
I’m not sure if I’ll make it to the ocean or not this summer, but for now I’ll enjoy our small amount of snow which has almost melted, and I’ll dream of lazy summer days as I create cards like this one.
