I’m sure we all have people in our lives that we’re thankful for. I know I have many. I also know that for myself, I need to be more intentional in letting those people know I’m thankful for them. I think most people could say the same. Oftentimes we probably assume they know how we feel, although I believe it is important for them to hear it as well. The card I made today simply says ‘thankful for you’ on the front with the entire inside available to write a personalized message.
I used a new technique on this card. I’ve seen it done before but haven’t tried it myself until now. I stamped a floral stamp onto clear vellum and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I did the same with the sentiment.
Turning the vellum over, I used copic markers to color the floral image. When everything was dry, I cut the vellum on the left and right side so there would be a nice white border. I left the vellum longer on the top and bottom. Next, I cut white cardstock to measure the same width as the vellum and cut the length to give it the same size of white border on the card base.
Laying the vellum face down, I then put the white panel on top of it and folded the top and bottom over, adhering the vellum to the cardstock with scor-tape. The final step was to adhere the panel to the card base.
I’m quite happy with how this card turned out and I will probably try this technique again in the future. Now I’m off to address this card and mail it out to someone I’m thankful for.
