Bring on the Cake!

Hey friends! I’m here with another quick birthday card. I tend to get so busy creating cards of all types that I sometimes lose track of time and get behind on the cards I actually need to send out to friends and family. I keep saying I’m working on getting birthday cards made ahead of time, and although I have been early or on time for some, I’m still late with many birthday cards. Now August is here and I have several cards to send this month.

For today’s card, I wanted to showcase this delicious slice of cake. I stamped it from a stamp set that came with a magazine. I think it’s a Crafter’s Companion stamp set. I colored the cake with Ohuhu markers, then fussy cut it out.

I didn’t have a lot of time to get this card done, so I chose a piece of patterned scrapbook paper for the background, cutting it to an A2 size.

I chose sentiments from the birthday basics stamp set by Simon Hurley. I stamped BRING ON THE CAKE! in VersaFine Clair nocturne ink on the top half of the patterned paper. I used double sided tape to adhere the paper to an A2 card base. On the inside, I stamped Sending birthday hugs and well wishes.

To finish this card off, I adhered the cake to the front of the card, popping it up with foam tape. The bright pink icing on the cake really makes this cake pop.
