Rainbows

I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like rainbows. A rainbow in the sky always brings a smile to my face. The beautiful glow of the colors blending into one another yet still standing out individually is a wonderful sight to behold.

This is the card I created for today’s Rainbow Connections Instagram Hop. The cards for this hop must use rainbow colors and leave about 2/3 of the card completely white. This is a fairly new design to me as this is only my second time making a card for this hop.

I cut a strip of white cardstock to 1 ¾ x 5 ½ inches. I have quite a large collection of washi tape and I have many solid colors. I chose the seven colors of the rainbow and placed them each diagonally on the cardstock, folding the ends around to the back.

I pulled out one of my A2 card bases (I generally make a bunch in advance) and adhered the rainbow strip towards the left, leaving a bit of white on the left and a fair amount of white on the right. I used scor-tape but glue would also work.

For the sentiment, I wanted something very small that would fit in the center of the rainbow strip. I chose the ‘sending love’ stamp from the Treat Cart Sentiment Add-On by Lawn Fawn. I stamped it on white cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I used my paper trimmer to cut it out and I glued it on with Bearly Art glue.

I think it’s important to remember that we, as human beings, are just as beautiful as the rainbow. We are made up of so many different personalities and mindsets, yet we are all one. Indigo and blue are right next to each other in the rainbow and perhaps have more in common than indigo and orange. This doesn’t make orange less important. Likewise, there may be people you don’t connect with as well as others and that’s okay. Be who you are and allow others to be who they are. We are all important and we all deserve love.
