Are you one who appreciates a good pun? Or perhaps you have a friend that loves puns. There are some wonderful punny stamp sets out there in the crafty world and I recently purchased one from my local scrapbook store.
The stamp set I bought is by Lawn Fawn and it’s called ‘How You Bean? Pickle Add-On’ There’s a group of pickles, a single pickle, a few facial expressions, and several punny sentiments.
For this card, I stamped the group of pickles onto white cardstock with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I colored the pickles using Ohuhu Honolulu B markers GY3, GY4, and GY5.
Using the stitched circles nesting die set by Prism Studio, I cut a circle around the pickles, and I cut a slightly larger circle from white cardstock. I ran the larger circle through a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then colored the edges of the circle with the lightest marker. I glued the pickle circle onto the embossed circle.
Next, I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock using the same ink and embossing powder, then cut it down to size. I cut two slightly smaller strips to glue to the back of the sentiment to give some added dimension.
I didn’t want to add too much more to this card as I wanted those pickles to be the star of the show. I decided to cut a white rectangle, slightly smaller than the card base, using the Hero Arts rectangle nesting dies. I ran that piece through the same embossing folder as the circle.
I again used the lightest marker to ever so lightly ink up the edges of the embossed rectangle and the sentiment strip.
To assemble the card, I glued the embossed rectangle onto the card base and the sentiment strip towards the top of the rectangle. I cut another small circle from scrap cardstock and glued it to the back of the embossed circle for a bit more dimension and glued it to the card. I love how this turned out and I have several people I know who would appreciate this adorable pun. I will definitely be making many more cards using this adorable stamp set!
