Hey friends! I know we’re already a month into the new year but it’s shaping up to be a year of some new beginnings for me. In my previous blog I shared about being introduced to some new card challenges and I wrote about my first one. Well, today is about another first.
The card I made today is for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and it is the first time I’ve ever made a card from a sketch. This card is for sketch #667 and here’s the sketch I had to go off of.

To be honest, it felt a little weird for me to create from a sketch and I’ll admit I followed the sketch very literally for my first time. I’m sure as I continue, I’ll get a little more creative with it.
For this card, I chose to go with purple and white with a touch of black. I used purple cardstock to create the A2 card base and I cut a smaller rectangle as well. I used white shimmer cardstock for the panel, the sentiment strip, and the banner. I ran the banner through an old Cuttlebug embossing folder. I matted the rectangles with black cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and a stamp from the Instant Artist Reflection stamp set by Stamps By Me and heat set it with clear embossing powder.
I adhered everything together with Bearly Art glue and decided to embellish with a few water droplet gems.
I’m curious to see the variety in everyone else’s creations for this challenge. This was something new for me and I’m sure I’ll be back with some more cards inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
