Hey friends, another card challenge here. This one is for the Addicted to CAS: Addicted to CAS #300 – Food challenge.
I was introduced to the concept of CAS (clean and simple) cards several months ago and it is a style I quite enjoy. Basically, the idea is to keep a lot of ‘white space’ on the card, use minimal embellishments, and one main focal point.

For this card, I used two macaron stamps from the Crafter’s Companion French Chic stamp set and a sentiment from the Crafter’s Companion My Cup of Tea stamp set.
I stamped the macarons on white cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set them with clear embossing powder. Next, I used copic markers to colour them. The colours I used were R81, BG01, and B32. I fussy cut them out and used a black marker to go around the edges to clean up the black lines and hide any imperfections from the cutting.
I placed the macarons on the card in a pile, stacking them how I liked them. I then positioned the sentiment stamp where I wanted it and stamped it with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink.
To add a bit of a light shadow around the pile of macarons, I used a blending brush to lightly apply some tumbled glass Distress Oxide ink.
To finish the card off, I simply glued the macarons in place using Bearly Art glue.
I’m sure someone will enjoy this sweet birthday card and it’s always good to add birthday cards to my stash as there’s almost always someone to send one out to.
