Hey everyone, today’s card is another birthday card, but a little more involved than the previous one. So, let’s get into it.
For the card base I used a purple Recollections 110lb cardstock paper from the very violet pack. Again, I made it an A2 size. I cut a 5 ¼ x 4 inch piece of Recollections white 110lb cardstock paper for the card front and another one to place inside the card for a writing space since the card base is purple.
I placed a patterned stencil (I have no idea what brand it is) over the card base and used a blending brush with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink to make a light background design. When this dried, I used a ‘happy birthday’ sentiment from a Recollections birthday stamp pack and stamped it on the front using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. I then attached this to the card base using Craft double sided glue tape.
On a separate piece of Recollections 110lb cardstock paper I stamped two flowers and two sets of leaves from a random stamp set I have in my stash. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it using my Recollections clear embossing powder. I then took Tim Holtz Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink and smooshed a bit onto my glass mat. I used a water brush, added a drop of water to the ink, and used it to color the two flowers. I then used Tim Holtz Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink in the same technique to color the centers of the two flowers. I did the same for the leaves using Tim Holtz Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink. When they were all dry I fussy cut the flowers and leaves out. I arranged them how I wanted them on the card front and glued them in place using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. That stuff works like a charm!
And there we have another birthday card. See you next time!
