Dream Big Love Inspire

Do you know anyone who’s lost their inspiration? Perhaps they’ve lost their ability to dream big? Why not make them a card to remind them to dream big? Here’s a fairly simple card I created for that purpose. Feel free to take it as inspiration to create your own version of it.

For the card base I used a light purple Recollections 110lb cardstock from the Very Violet cardstock pack. I made an A2 card (4 ¼ x 5 ½ in). I cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 7/8 x 5 inch and adhered it to the card base using Craft double sided glue tape.

For the next layer I cut a piece of the light purple cardstock to 3 3/8 x 4 ½ inches and ran it through my Gemini Jr. using a heart embossing folder.

I then cut a piece of vellum to 2 ¼ x 5 inches. I wanted this to be the central focus of the card and chose vellum so you can still see the dry embossed hearts through it. In my stash of scrapbooking supplies, I found some pink rub on sentiments. I chose three for this card. I chose to rub on the small ‘love’ sentiment in the center, the ‘Dream Big’ sentiment a short distance above, and the ‘INSPIRE’ sentiment a short distance below. With those in place, I lined up the vellum where I wanted it, with about ¼ inch overlapping the top and bottom of the purple, heart embossed cardstock. I made a crease fold at the ¼ inch mark on both ends. I added some Craft double sided glue tape to the back of the purple cardstock where the vellum was to attach and adhered it all in place.

Next, I used the Craft double sided glue tape to adhere the purple cardstock to the white cardstock. I’m quite happy with how it turned out.

For the finishing touch I grabbed my stash of diamond painting gems and found a bright pink that matched the sentiments. I chose a few of the pink gems to add randomly to the front of the card using Bearly Art precision glue. I think it added just the right touch. I think it’s important to use what you have in your cardmaking/crafting. I find the gems from diamond painting kits work wonders and I tend to use them quite often.

For the inside of the card, I decided to add a piece of white cardstock to make it a little nicer for the sender to write on. For that piece, I cut the cardstock to 3 7/8 x 5 inches and adhered it with Craft double sided glue tape.

My hope is that this card will brighten someone’s day and remind them that life is worth dreaming big again!
