Striped Flower Thinking of You

Have you ever had a time where someone that you haven’t thought of in quite some time randomly pops into your mind? I find at those times I can have a nice little walk down memory lane. There are times, though, when that particular person continues to pop into my mind. At those times I’m more aware of the opportunity to reach out to that person, whether that be a quick text, a phone call, meeting for coffee, or even something as simple as sending a card.

As I’ve mentioned before, I tend to make and send a lot of ‘thinking of you’ cards. I like to make different types, so I have a variety to choose from.

Here is a colorful ‘thinking of you’ card that I made using some scrapbook paper. To start with, I made the A2 size card base (4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch) out of Recollections 110lb white cardstock.

For the card front I found a colorful, striped scrapbook paper from my stash of paper and I cut it to 3 15/16 x 5 3/16 inches. (I cut the paper before measuring, hence the weird measurements.) I stamped a flower on the paper using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and embossed it using Recollections clear embossing powder. I decided it would look better with a thin, black frame around it, so I cut a piece of black cardstock to 4 1/16 x 5 3/8 inches.

I attached the striped paper to the black paper using Craft double sided glue tape. I then attached the whole thing to the card base using the same Craft double sided glue tape.

For the sentiment, I chose a piece of pale blue cardstock that matched one of the colors on the scrapbook paper. I stamped a ‘thinking of you’ sentiment onto it using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and embossed it using Recollections clear embossing powder. I cut the sentiment strip to 3 15/16 x 11/16 inches and attached it to the lower portion of the card using Craft double sided glue tape.

To add a little something extra to the card I added three small yellow dots on the sentiment strip using Ranger Liquid Pearls. I then rubbed a small bit of CraftMedley Premium Craft Glue to the center of the flower and added Craft Décor Diamond Shimmer Dust to give it a little sparkle.

I left the inside blank so the sender can write their own personalized message. Sometimes you don’t need to say much in a card when you send it, but I find at other times a fair amount of space is needed to write a personalized message. Perhaps you want to remind them of those memories that popped into your head about them. Whether you choose to write a lot or a little, whatever you send will be greatly appreciated, I’m sure. It’s always nice to know someone is thinking of you.
