Birthday Pun

Today I’ve made a cute elephant birthday card. These little elephant stamps are so adorable. And the sentiments are cute too. All of the stamps on this card are from the Forever in Time Tons of Fun stamp set.

To start off with, I created an A2 card (4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch) from grey 110lb cardstock from the Recollections Coffee and Cream pack. The card front and the inside panel are both cut to 4 x 5 ¼ inch from white Recollections 110lb cardstock.

To stamp everything on the card front, I lined up the cardstock and all the stamps in my MISTI stamping platform. That way I could stamp everything at once. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp, and heat set them with Recollections clear embossing powder. I also stamped a single elephant on the inside panel with the same ink and embossing powder.

I chose markers to color all the elephants and the birthday cupcake. The elephants were all colored using Artist’s Loft dual tip art markers from the Portrait Colors pack. I used W.01 for the elephant’s bodies and W.03 for the toes, tails, and crease lines. For the insides of their ears, I used 419.  I used W.05 for the cupcake paper. For the tiny bit of chocolate cupcake showing, I used a brown Staedtler triplus fineliner. The rest of the colors (pink, blue, purple, and yellow) were colored with PaperMate Flair pens. To finish this card off, I simply adhered the card front and the inside panel using Forever In Time glue tape runner. Who wouldn’t love these cute, little elephants?
