Purple and White Hello

Hey everyone, here is a fairly simple card to make using a little bit of vellum and ribbon. I chose a simple ‘hello’ sentiment so this card can be used for any occasion or to simply send to a friend you maybe haven’t spoken to in a while. We all know life gets busy and while many people are in our thoughts, we sadly don’t reach out enough to say hello to those we don’t see too often. I’m guilty of that myself. A simple hello card is a wonderful way to remedy that.

For this card, I made an A2 card (4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch) from Recollections white 110lb cardstock. For the card front I cut a piece of purple 110lb cardstock from the Recollections Very Violet pack to 3 ¾ x 5 inches. I wanted a little more of a white border around the edges than I usually make.

I cut a strip of vellum to 1 ½ x 5 ½ inches. I positioned it where I wanted it to go, then put a bit of double sided glue tape on the back where the vellum would fold over to attach to the card front. Next, I cut a piece of ribbon I got from Dollarama to 4 ½ inches. I did the same as I had with the vellum. I added a bit of glue tape to the back where the ribbon would wrap around and attach.

Next, I took a scrap piece of white cardstock that was about 2 ½ x 3 ¾ inches. I stamped a beautiful floral mannequin on it using VersaFine Clair monarch ink. When it was dry, I tore down the right side, tearing off part of the stamp. I glued that down using Bearly Art precision glue, overlapping both the vellum and the ribbon. To finish this card off, I stamped a hello sentiment using Wow clear embossing ink and heat set it with Wow white embossing powder. I glued the card front to the card base and this card is ready to go. I hope it will be used to reconnect a relationship that has accidentally become stagnant.
