Holographic Bulrush Birthday

Hey friends! I’m back with another birthday card. This one was fairly simple to make and turned out really pretty. I’ll probably make a few more using the same techniques but different embossing folders.

For the A2 card base I used grey Recollections 110lb cardstock from the Coffee and Cream pack. I cut some white cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and adhered it to the inside of the card so the sender can write their own greeting inside.

For the card front I cut a piece of holographic foil cardstock to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches. I ran it through my Gemini Jr. with a bulrush embossing folder. I then trimmed it down to 4 x 5 ¼ inches so there would be a thin grey border showing from the card base. I adhered that to the base using Craft double sided glue tape.

I chose to die cut a happy birthday sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords die set. I cut the words from white cardstock and the outlines from a pale blue cardstock. I adhered the words to the outlines using Bearly Art glue and then used the same glue to adhere them to the card front. Being that the holographic bulrushes filled the card, I didn’t want to add anything other than the sentiment. This holographic foil cardstock is so pretty when tilted. The light causes a beautiful rainbow effect. I’ll definitely be making more like this.
