Pink Christmas Blessings

I’m sure there are some of you who are starting to prep for Christmas already while others are waiting until the last minute. The diversity in humanity is wonderful to experience. For me, I’ve been busy making Christmas cards, so you’ll be seeing quite a few in the next while.

For this card I stuck to the same pink and blue colors as I used in my last card. To start with, I made the A2 card from Recollections white 110lb cardstock.

For the front panel I went with Recollections white dove cardstock cut to 4 x 5 ¼ inches. I wanted to make some pink trees on the panel, so I used the cardstock that I had cut the trees out from on my previous card. I used it as a stencil and with my domed foam blender I applied Tim Holtz seedless preserves distress oxide ink to make three pink trees.

Next, I used Tim Holtz salty ocean distress oxide ink to stamp little snowflakes all over the card panel. I did first and second generation stamping so some are darker than others. I decided the panel would stand out more if it had a blue border around it that matched the snowflakes. That was an easy fix, as I took the card base and my domed foam blender and added the same salty ocean ink around the edges of the card.

Before adhering the panel to the card base, I stamped the sentiment onto the trees. The VersaFine Clair nocturne ink showed up really well on the pink trees.

Finally, I adhered the panel to the card base using Forever In Time glue tape runner. I left the inside blank leaving room for a personalized note.

I realize that nontraditional colors for Christmas aren’t everyone’s thing so I’ll do a more traditional card next time.
