Peace on earth is definitely a phrase you hear around Christmastime. Peace isn’t just for Christmas though; it is important to experience peace year round. Remember that peace isn’t found only when things are going well, but peace is also found in the midst of the storm.
I made this A2 card from Recollections white 110lb cardstock. I chose two different Christmas cardstock from my stash that complement each other. One is a creamy beige with gold stars on it and the other is a really dark burgundy, almost brown with metallic gold designs on it. The darker cardstock I cut to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches to completely cover the front of the card. I adhered that with Craft double sided glue tape runner. I cut the lighter cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼ inches and adhered it onto the darker cardstock.
For the sentiment, I stamped Peace on Earth onto Recollections white dove cardstock using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder. I used my Gemini Jr. and a Spellbinders Nestabilities curved rectangle die to cut out the sentiment. I cut it out so the sentiment is towards the top of the rectangle as I had an idea for the bottom portion. I used the same die set but chose one size larger to die cut the darker cardstock to create a border around the sentiment. I adhered those two together.
My idea for the bottom portion of the sentiment was to wrap gold thread around it and it turned out wonderfully! The final thing was to adhere the sentiment to the card. I really like how this card turned out.
I hope you remember to not only take notice of and experience the peace around you and within you, but to also be the peace for others around you, not only during the Christmas season but all year round.
