Time Stands Still

Happy New Year everyone! This is my first blog post of 2024! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and are looking forward to a wonderful year.

I had fun making this card. I used Tim Holtz antique linen distress oxide ink and a domed foam blending tool to cover the white card panel. I then sprayed some water into my hand and flicked it onto the inked panel. After a few moments I dabbed it dry with some paper towel.

The stamp I chose is a beautiful clock from the Forever In Time Timepieces stamp set. I used my MISTI to line it up nicely and then stamped it using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder and my Wow embossing tool.

I knew I wanted the sentiment to say “Time stands still when I’m with you” but I didn’t have a stamp that said that. I wrote it on myself using a Tombow Fudenosuke black pen.

Before adhering it to the card base using Tombow Xtreme adhesive, I used a domed foam blender and Tim Holtz black soot distress oxide ink and inked up the border of the card. With the black clock and sentiment, I figured a darker border around the panel would look really nice. I’m pleased with how it turned out.

I left the inside blank as I figured this card would work well for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, a birthday, or even just because.

I prefer to stamp my sentiments as I’m not always fond of my own writing, but I’d encourage you, as I do myself, to not let the fear of your own writing keep you from making a card you don’t have stamps for. As we’re starting out in our crafting, it takes time and money to collect supplies. I’d encourage you to use what you have to make the cards you want to make rather than waiting until you have all the supplies. Happy crafting!
