Hot Coffee

Okay, this card was a lot of fun to make! The inspiration for this card came from my love for coffee and my love for my husband.

I have this great coffee die cut and stamp set so I started by blending some ground espresso distress oxide ink onto white cardstock. I ran it through my Gemini Jr. using the coffee cup and coffee bean dies. I also ran the coffee cup outline die through on white cardstock.

On a white card panel, I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and heat set it with Recollections clear embossing powder. Using a bit of ground espresso ink mixed with a spritz of water on my glass mat, I dipped the bottom of my glue bottle in the brown mixture and pressed it on the panel in a few places, mimicking the look of coffee cup rings.

I glued the outline on the coffee cup with Bearly Art glue and glued it onto the card panel. After blending some ground espresso ink around the edges of the card base, I glued the panel to the base.

For the inside sentiment, I used the Close To My Heart atomic lower case stamp set and VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I wanted the word ‘HOT’ to stand out more, so I used the atomic caps stamp set for that one word. I quite like how this card turned out.
