Gold Christmas

Can you believe Christmas is less than a month away? I have almost finished making all my Christmas cards for this year. Today’s card is another Christmas card I created as a part of the design team for Aall Scrapbook Essentials – Home – my amazing local scrapbook store.

To make this card, I first inked up a panel of white cardstock using Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in faded jeans and black soot. I love how these two colors blend together to look like the night sky.

Next, I ran this panel through my embossing machine with the Spellbinders Stargazer embossing folder. I had a plan to make the stars stand out more, but first I cut three triangles from three different types of gold cardstock and lined them up on the panel to mimic trees. Once I had the idea of the placement of the trees, it was time to make some of those stars stand out. To do this, I used an embossing pen to ink up a few stars at a time and heat set them with gold embossing powder. I did a few stars at a time until I had as many as I wanted. They look beautiful!

I adhered the panel to the card base using scor-tape and then glued down the trees using Bearly Art glue. I made the center tree the largest of the three and glued it in front of the others.

For the sentiment, I used a Merry Christmas die and cut it from the same gold cardstock as the center tree. I used Bearly Art glue to adhere it under the base of the trees.

To finish this card off, I stamped a Christmas greeting inside using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink and a stamp from the Stampendous ‘Tis the Season stamp set. I absolutely love how this card turned out. I hope you enjoyed it as well. Enjoy preparing for your holiday season.
