With Christmas less than three weeks away, many people are busy, rushing around to get things ready for Christmas. Maybe you’ve been baking your family’s favorite Christmas treats or counting down the days until you see family you haven’t seen in a while. Perhaps you’ve been shopping for presents or making presents. Whatever it is, I hope you’ve enjoyed it. Sometimes we need to be reminded to live in the moment. It’s wonderful to reflect on memories of the past and to dream of what the future holds, but don’t sacrifice the present to live in what was or what may be. Be present today.
I think I just completed my last Christmas card of the year. A while ago, I received this beautiful treble clef die from Kokorosa studio. I knew I wanted to use the large treble clef as a capital S and cut out the rest of the letters to spell silent night. I wasn’t sure what color to use or what the background should be. I looked through my stacks of Christmas scrapbook paper and found this dark night sky with stars. It’s perfect! I cut the paper to 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inches and glued it to one of the white A2 cards I previously made.
I chose to cut the treble clef and the letters from silver matte cardstock. The treble clef is from the Kokorosa die set. The letters are Sizzix Thinlits Lisa Jones Essential Type. These work great on so many projects. Anyway, once everything was cut, I glued the treble clef and letters onto the card.
I stamped a Christmas greeting on the inside using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. That is my go to ink for stamping sentiments. I used a stamp from the Stampendous Tis the Season stamp set.
I really like how this card turned out. I enjoyed making it. I hope you’re taking time to enjoy your Christmas preparations as well. Remember, Christmas doesn’t have to be an expensive, elaborate holiday. It’s the simple things in life that are the most important. Merry Christmas!
