Style

Today’s cards were a lot of fun to make. I don’t always have a lot of bright colors on my cards, but this stamp set called for color! I made these cards using the Kindred Stamps stamp set called You’ve Got Style. It is a small stamp set consisting of this adorable pop star along with two sentiments.

For the first card, I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it using various markers and pens.  When it was dry, I used the Hero Arts rectangle infinity dies to cut out the image in a small rectangle. I used the next size up to cut out a black mat layer, then a couple of sizes up to cut out a bright pink layer then another layer of black. I then masked off the image and blended tumbled glass distress oxide ink over the panel. When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment under the image.

I ran the pink layer through one of my embossing folders. It looks like sparkling stars which was fitting for this pop star.

I adhered all the layers together using art glitter glue. I love the pink and black contrast!

The second card was very similar. The only differences were the color of pen used for the shirt, the color of the layering mat, the absence of black layers, and the sentiment. For the purple layer that is embossed with the same sparkly star embossing folder, I blended seedless preserves distress oxide ink onto white cardstock.

I think these two cards are adorable and I had a lot of fun creating them.
