I think all of us crafters have supplies that tend to get tucked away somewhere and not used very often. It’s that whole ‘out of sight, out of mind’ thing. I found one of those stamp sets and decided it needed some love. The stamp set is called Fabulous Florals by Sentimentally Yours and has a coordinating sentiment stamp set called Splendid Sentiments.
I chose the largest floral stamp from the set and thought it would look really pretty stamped in black against a rainbow background. To create the background, I went through my stash of ink pads and chose three pastel colors: pink, yellow, and blue. I ink blended these onto an A2 card panel then splattered a bit of water on it, dabbing it with a paper towel.
Using my MISTI to line the stamp up nicely, I stamped the large floral image over the left side of the panel with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. From the sentiment set, I chose ‘best wishes’ and stamped it in the lower right side using the same nocturne ink.
I glued the panel onto an A2 card base. For a bit of extra embellishment, I glued three black diamond art gems around the sentiment. So simple, but it just adds that extra touch.
I think I’ll have to experiment some more with this stamp set in the future. Sometimes we just need to go through our stash of supplies to see what hasn’t been used in a while.
