Uniquely Creative Birthday Card

At the start of each month, I like to create all the birthday cards I’ll need for the month. That means I have eight birthday cards to create for this month. Here’s my first birthday card of the month.

I used an embossing folder and a cutting die to create this card. Both products are by Uniquely Creative. I used the happy birthday die and the encapture embossing folder.

I started with one of the A2 cards in my stash. I tend to make a bunch of A2 cards while watching a show. That way I almost always have a card ready to create with.

Next, I cut a piece of black cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼ inches to use as a matting layer. From the center of that matting layer, I die cut the happy birthday sentiment.

After that, I cut a piece of yellow cardstock to 3 ¾ x 5 inches, put it in my embossing folder, and ran it through my embossing machine. After placing the sentiment on to see how it looked, I decided to cut a small strip of black cardstock to add towards the bottom of the card.

I adhered all the layers together and glued the sentiment onto the card. I wanted to add a flower onto the strip of black, but all my flower die cuts seemed too large. I found a small wooden flower that I thought would work nicely. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and glued it onto the card. The final touch was to add yellow liquid pearls onto the flower.

I’m quite happy with how this card turned out. Now to make 7 more cards. My problem is that I don’t like to create the same card twice, but that’s okay because I like to come up with new ideas.
