Wildflowers

Today’s card is a very simple one as I was short on time today. I don’t currently have extra content ready to post. Lately I’ve been creating the card and blog either the day of posting or the day before. Yesterday I was thankful to be able to go to the coast to visit three of my children. It was such an enjoyable day and I loved every minute of it! I was also busy for a good part of today, hence the quick card.

To create this card, I started by ink blending on a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ inch cardstock panel. I used distress oxide inks, starting with spun sugar, then dried marigold, then tumbled glass. I didn’t really like how the tumbled glass looked as it wasn’t quite dark enough for my liking. I went over that ink with weathered wood and was happy with that.

When the ink was dry, I used the Gina K Wildflowers stamp set to stamp several different wildflowers with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I also stamped a sentiment from that set.

Finally, I glued the panel onto an A2 card from my stash. Very simple, but very pretty! I absolutely love making cards, but when I get a chance to go visit my kids, the card making can wait.
