Hey friends! Do you ever think about what got you started in cardmaking and what technique really caught your interest? For me, it was stamping and embossing. The majority of the time I stamp something; I add clear embossing powder to it as I still love that look. And the first quality ink I bought was VersaFine Clair nocturne, which is still my favorite ink for stamping sentiments and detailed stamps.

Today’s card is featuring stamping and embossing. I went back to the basics with this one, even keeping it an elegant blank and white. The idea for this card came from the All About: All About Challenge #2 which is all about stamps. I combined a few different stamp sets for this card.

I stamped the dandelions and the sentiment on a white cardstock panel with my favorite ink and then heat set it with clear embossing powder.

I trimmed the panel down to 4 x 5 ¼ inches. I trimmed some black cardstock to give a slight black border. I didn’t measure, I just eyeballed it. Next, I adhered these together and glued them to a white A2 card base using Art Glitter glue.

I wanted to carry the design to the inside, so I stamped a dandelion inside along with a birthday greeting.

I think it is fun to create many styles of cards with a diversity of colours and techniques, but sometimes it’s fun to create a simple black and white card. There’s just something classic about black and white.
