Hey friends! I’m back with another clean and simple card. I’m so thankful I was introduced to this style as I’m finding I really like it!
Today’s card was inspired by the latest challenge at Addicted to CAS: Addicted to CAS #302 – Weather

I looked through my stash to see what I had that was weather themed and I came across this stamp from the Instant Artist Reflection stamp set by Stamps By Me. It’s a lovely silhouette stamp but I chose to stamp it in shades of blue and grey to mimic a rainy day.
I lined the stamp up in my MISTI and placed an A2 card base inside. I added a strip of washi tape across the card to mask off a section for the sentiment to go. I used blending brushes to add different shades of blue and grey ink to the stamp, then stamped it onto the card base.
Next, I pulled off the washi tape and lined up a sentiment from the THMM113 stamp set by Stampers Anonymous. I stamped it using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. It says, “I’m happiest when I’m with you” which I thought was perfect to go with this couple walking in the rain. Whether it’s literally walking in the rain or walking through the rainy periods of life, it’s wonderful to have someone to walk with.

I sat for a moment, wondering what to add to it as it looked a bit too plain. I didn’t want to add much as I wanted to keep it as clean and simple as possible. I finally settled on some blue ink splatter which I created by adding a bit of blue ink to my glass mat, mixing a bit of water, and splattering with a small paintbrush, making sure to mask off the white part of the card as well as the sentiment.
I’m not sure I would have thought of this without this weather prompt by Addicted to CAS, so thank you to whoever chose the code word for this challenge.
