Hey friends! Today’s card is a clean and simple card featuring a couple of sweet birds. I created this card for the clean and simple challenge found here: Addicted to CAS: Addicted to CAS #304 – Stripes and I’m down to the wire in entering it.
The code word for this challenge was ‘stripes’ and I had several ideas I could have gone with. I chose to use this very simple stamp from Simon Says Stamp. It’s from the stamp set called Hello Sunshine. I’ve actually never used this particular stamp before. I’ve used several others from that set. The stamp is basically two thin lines that are 5 ½ inches long with a ¼ inch space between the lines. I stamped it twice so there are four stripes across the A2 card base.
Next, I chose two little birds from the Backyard Bird Feeder stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I stamped them and colored them with Ohuhu markers, then cut them out with the coordinating die.
I found a stitched heart I had previously die cut and had in my stash. I have no idea what set it’s from as I no longer have that set. I inked up the heart with some light blue ink and glued it over the stripes towards the left side of the card. I glued the birds in the heart.
I chose a sentiment from the Tweet Greetings stamp set by My Favorite Things, stamping it in VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. The spacing between the stripes was the perfect fit for the sentiment so I stamped it towards the right of the card between the bottom two stripes.
I think this card fits the clean and simple standards quite well. There’s lots of white space and minimal embellishments.
It is spring here and I’ve been enjoying all the cute birds in my yard. I hope you’re enjoying the life around you as well. Until next time 😊
