Be Your Beautiful Self

Hey friends! We have a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and we’d love for you to play along. The code word is FRAME and I’m curious to see what everyone will come up with. Check it out here: Addicted to CAS

I thought of a few different ways to incorporate this theme and finally decided on using a frame from the Echoes of Time die cut elements by 49 and Market. There are several styles and sizes of frames in this set. I chose a medium frame.

Next, I had to decide what to put in the frame. I chose a flower from my box of random ephemera. I’m not quite sure where this one is from, but it looked elegant enough to match the frame.

I felt it needed a bit of colour in the frame, behind the flower, so I added some Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink inside where the frame would go. I glued the frame in place and then the flower, with the tiniest bits overlapping the frame.

For the sentiment, I chose ‘be your beautiful self’ which I figured fit well with this beautiful, framed flower. It’s from one of the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collections – THMM113.

To me, this card is a reminder that there is beauty in each person if we’re willing to see it. Sometimes we even struggle to see the beauty in ourselves. I’m here to remind you today that you are beautiful. Choose to see your beauty and choose to let it shine.
