Hey friends! It’s been a couple of busy weeks, but I’m back with another design team card for Addicted to CAS and the code word this time is UP. I found this one a bit challenging but then I remembered this adorable Winnie the Pooh stamp set by Echo Park. I’ve used a couple of stamps from this set but had never used this iconic image of Pooh Bear being carried away by a balloon. I figured this theme was a good one to use this stamp on.
I started with a white A2 card and stamped the image towards the top right corner with VersaFine Clair nocturne ink. I stamped the sentiment with the same ink. There are a few different sentiments in this set, and I chose the one that says, “Adventure is out there”.
I used a stampin’ write marker in the colour ‘hello honey’ to colour Pooh Bear. I’m pretty sure the balloon in the actual story is blue but I wanted to make it red to add a pop of colour. I coloured it with a Sharpie smear guard highlighter.
I wanted to add some blue sky with clouds, so I used a homemade cloud stencil with some heavenly blue ink and a blending brush, keeping to the top third of the card. I left the bottom two thirds blank to keep this very clean and simple.
I’m excited to see how everyone else interprets the code word UP into their projects. If you’d like to play along with us, please do! It’s a fun challenge that helps me to think outside of the box. I love to see the diversity in our creations. I can’t wait to see what you create!
