Gratitude

Gratitude is such an important aspect of life. We may not always feel like showing gratitude, but even when times are tough, we can choose an attitude of gratitude.

I created this card for the new challenge at Addicted to CAS and the code word this time is PUMPKIN. I only have one pumpkin stamp in all of my craft supplies so that’s what I used. It’s an old stamp by Close to my Heart. To get the colour the shade I wanted, I used two different inks. I first stamped it with Close to my Heart orange ink. I stamped over it with Stampin’ Up dusty durango ink. I repeated the stamping with those two inks until I got the shade I was happy with.

The stamp I have does not have a stem on the pumpkin. According to the package, it looks like there was supposed to be a stamp with a stem and leaves, but I got this second hand so perhaps it got lost. I took the chocolate chip stampin’ write marker and made a stem.

I added a sentiment from that same stamp set that says, ‘Gratitude turns what we have into enough.’ I stamped it with Stampin’ Up chocolate chip ink, keeping it close to the pumpkin. A few gems finishes this card off nicely.

We have just celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada, where the focus is on being thankful and expressing gratitude. It is wonderful to have a holiday where that is the focus but let us not forget that gratitude is something that should be a daily expression in our lives. Gratitude is a choice and if we’re honest, we can always find something to be grateful for.
